Asphalt Yacht Club Sails the Southwest

AYC is putting together a video of the team and their trip through the Southwest. In the meantime, we get a preview with some slo mo from Stefan Janoski, Riley Hawk, Stevie Williams, Blake Carpenter, Ben Nordberg, Derrick Wilson, and Nyjah Huston. Oh and Jaws in there? Based on the intro and what you've seen from Asphalt Yacht Club so far (and the party city), you might have thought this entire Miami video would be popping bottles instead of ollies, but get past that first 15 seconds and slow mo ASSphalt and it's straight to ripping from Stevie Williams, Stefan, Nyjah, and more, all dominated by Riley Hawk. What a crew. Ripping skating has had a good track record of silencing sideline skateboard critics. We'll see if it works for AYC. I for sure can't hate.

Whenever I’m on the road and have the opportunity to take advantage of a home-cooked meal, I’m stoked. So with the Asphalt Yacht Club team in town for the Zumiez Best Foot Forward contest, I figured we could extend the courtesy to the dudes and have them over to skate and eat. The rain stopped the skating, but we still got to hang for a few hours.
Welcome AYC to The Boardr Store, They Interviewed Us Instead

This week we're welcoming Asphalt Yacht Club to The Boardr Store. Instead of me interviewing them, they flipped it around this time and interviewed me. We talked about skate business and retail being tough, times where my favorite shoes must be placed in my mouth due to loose lips on the keyboard, and all the nerdness I'm attracted to like stats and reports on skateboarding.

The chances high that when you all meet up, two of you will be wearing the same gear on a clothing company team trip. I wonder how they decide who goes back to the drawing board. Maybe a game of dice.Figgy, Riley, Nyjah, Blake, Derrick, and Vincent were all recently in Dever to put together this ripping part. What's Clive Dixon doing in there? Killing it!
